Form A: Liftig eye bolt like DIN 580
Form B: Liftig eye nut like DIN 580
The following application guidelines must be observed, also with regard to the load capacity specifications listed in the table (see data sheet):
Form A: Eyebolts according to DIN 580
- The eyebolt must be at right angles, fully screwed in and in full contact with the bearing surface.
- Maximum countersink of the threaded hole = nominal diameter of the thread.
- When screwed in, the screw collar must be tight (do not use a washer).
- The mating thread must be as long as the screw length or
or its material must be sufficient for the load capacity of the eyebolt.
- The eyebolts should not be used with an angle of inclination > 45° and lateral tension!
Lateral tension must not be used (see illustration).
- Bent eyebolts cannot take the specified nominal load capacity and should be replaced.
Form B: Ring nuts according to DIN 582
- The ring nut must be fully screwed on at a right angle and must be in full contact with the bearing surface.
When screwed in, the screw collar must be tight (do not use a washer).
- The mating thread must be as long as the length of the nut thread or
the material of the screw must be sufficient for the load capacity of the ring nut.
- The ring nuts should not be used for angles of inclination > 45° and lateral tension, as the load-bearing capacity depends on the direction of loading.
Lateral tension must not be used (see illustration).
Do not apply load across the face of the ring !
The values given in the table above are only applicable when the thread length of bolt is 0,8 x d1 and the tensile strength of 500 N/mm2 is not surpassed.
- Bent ring nuts cannot take the specified nominal load capacity and should be replaced.
RoHS-compliant: yes
The DIN 580 eyebolts and DIN 582 ring nuts are primarily used as load-bearing devices
for permanent
attachment to components such as motors, switch cabinets, gearboxes and for their transport.
For alternating use on various objects to be transported,
such as large tools,
eyebolts with the next larger thread diameter must be used.
When used with multi-leg slings, the rules, e.g. in accordance with DIN EN 818-4, must be observed.
The specified nominal load capacity is clearly visible on the ring.
The nominal load capacity applies to the most unfavourable load case of the load types listed opposite.
