About SCHOLZ MECHANIK GmbH

SCHOLZ MECHANIK develops and manufactures high-precision components, assemblies, and system solutions for demanding industries—with a clear focus on aerospace. As an EN 9100-certified manufacturing partner, we support our customers throughout the entire value chain: engineering, prototypes, series production, assembly, and documentation.

For decades, we have stood for reproducible quality, reliable processes, and technical depth. Our customers value short decision-making paths, high manufacturing depth, and absolute reliability – especially where every component is safety-critical.

Quality and Service Philosophy

Quality begins by placing customer satisfaction at the center of our thinking.
(Quote: John F. Akers, American manager)

We stand for the highest quality and tailored solutions. It is our ambition to meet even the most demanding requirements and to continuously improve. From the selection of materials to final inspection, we emphasize the care and responsibility of each individual employee.
Our production processes are strictly certified and follow the clearly defined quality guidelines of EN9100:2018 aerospace certification. To ensure that every product meets our high standards, we rely on modern technologies and methods. Through regular training and continuing education, our employees remain up to date with the latest technology and can therefore meet even the most demanding challenges.
Close contact with our customers is an essential part of our daily work. We are committed to understanding problems and requirements precisely in order to develop the most tailored solutions possible. This customer proximity has been the key to our success for many years and enables us to grow together with our customers.

Environmental Protection

SCHOLZ MECHANIK We are committed to the environment—with full conviction!

As an ambitious and forward-thinking company, we understand the importance of our environment and are committed to protecting it to the best of our ability. In addition to ensuring RoHS compliance of our products, we have been working for several years on REACh-compliant coating solutions for use in aviation. This is done in close collaboration with OEMs such as Airbus and with the goal of minimizing environmental impact. Furthermore, our employees receive continuous training and our processes are regularly reviewed for sustainability.

Our efforts are supported by national and international funding projects.

We are very pleased that our initiative and commitment are also recognized officially. Since 2018, we have been honored with the Environmental Partnership of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Structure & History

Founded in 1952 by Hamburg merchant Horst Scholz, SCHOLZ MECHANIK has been located at its current site in southern Hamburg since 1954. From the very beginning, the customer and the production of high-precision mechanical products have been at the center of our business activities.
The initially pure contract manufacturing of customer-specific products was expanded in subsequent years to include drill bushings and a systematic range of standard parts. In this way, by the end of the 1950s, a large portion of the needs of machine, tool, and mold manufacturers could be sourced from SCHOLZ MECHANIK under one roof.
The logistically optimal location at the crossroads of Europe and the immediate proximity to the port and airport led SCHOLZ MECHANIK to include export activities very early on and to win customers worldwide. Due to rapidly increasing demand, the second location in Uelzen, 85 km south of Hamburg, was opened in 1978. Growth and continuous development in all areas, the expansion of production to include additional manufacturing processes, as well as the constant training of apprentices and skilled workers have enabled SCHOLZ MECHANIK to offer a very broad range of services and today ranks among the leading companies in standard and precision parts manufacturing.

Locations

At two German locations, we work in multiple shifts to manufacture our products.

Our main location in southern Hamburg houses administration, sales, design and development, as well as part of production and the finished parts warehouse. Thanks to its excellent connections, short-term and reliable shipping is ensured, and it is also quickly accessible for customers and suppliers.

The second location in Uelzen (southeastern Lower Saxony) is primarily a production site. Equipped with modern machinery, it forms the basis of our lean manufacturing processes.

Social Commitment

The Bosumpra Project

We wholeheartedly support the Bosumpra Project and would like to introduce you to the valuable work of Ben Addo.
The artist Ben Addo lived and worked in Hamburg for 25 years (including as a lecturer for the Körber Foundation and the Kulturhaus Süderelbe). Since his return to Ghana in 2011, he has dedicated himself to the Bosumpra Nature Conservation and Stone Age Village Project. In his hometown of Abetifi, Ghana, archaeological excavations by the University of Legon in 2008 revealed that people lived on the Addo family property 13,000 years ago. This inspired the artist to establish the Bosumpra Project and make the site available to the public. He is working to open an open-air museum in a rock cave where his sculptures depicting scenes from the Stone Age will be exhibited. An information center is also planned, where the finds from the excavations will be displayed. The associated rainforest, which has remained untouched until now, is severely threatened by illegal logging. The Bosumpra Project offers the opportunity to have this forest recognized as a nature reserve. The project creates jobs in the economically weak region. Students and tourists will have the opportunity to learn about the historical significance of the site and can inform themselves about the protection and preservation of the rainforest and the country's biodiversity.
